South Hobart - Don't waste our future

Have your say about Council plans to extend the life of McRobie's tip, ways we can reduce waste and the impacts on our community.

If we're going to host the city-wide tip again, we'd like to call for some changes, but what changes would the community like to see?

Join us for a waste forum where we will hear from some inspirational speakers and seek to understand your views so that the SHSC can develop a 'Good Neighbourhood Agreement' to present to the HCC.

Phil Harrington will be showcasing a number of inspirational examples of waste reduction initiatives from around the world (including Tasmanian examples).

The Hobart City Council will share with us existing, mitigated and potential land and water contamination issues related to the tip.

Alderman Anna Reynolds will discuss the noise, dust and safety community concerns that locals have already shared with her.

We will also run an activity at the end to gather your ideas about the changes you would like to see.
