What festival would be complete without some great home-grown music acts.  We've got a fantastic line up of eclectic artists from folksy/gypsy to choral music and even some roving theatre!

  • MONA Kids

    Sustainable Living event

    MONA will showcase curated learning opportunities in the Kids Activity Area with special guests Theatre of the Roaming Trees.

    Activities will focus on our 4 learning pathways: creative arts, culinary arts, science and sustainability:

    • People powered bike-blended smoothies: delicious, pleasurable food that’s good for you and for the planet!
    • Crafting seed bombs to take home, gift or exchange: literally reseeding the earth with our dreams, hopes and edible greens!
    • 101 things that carrots can do: A range of activities from designing super-hero carrot-capes, to microscopy and print-making – all using our namesake and favourite vegetable!
    • Make your own newspaper origami pots and plant some giant sunflowers.
    • Plus lots more surprises and fun learning opportunities at our stall.

    Loosen Up cater to all levels and offers a broad range of yoga styles to suit all individuals.

  • Reuse Flower Spiral

    Explore this beautiful installation of paper flowers made from repurposed paper waste depicting our vision for a creative, sustainable future.

    This is a collaborative project, with materials available for you to add to the field over the festival weekend.  Presented by artist Bec Williams, Resource Work Cooperative and Sustainable Living Tasmania with support from NRM South.

  • Bright Sparks

    Get colouring in, learn about safety and have the chance to win a prize!

    TasNetworks will be hosting a colouring competition based around the characters from the  Bright Sparks education program, which aims to teach kids about the dangers associated with electricity and encourages safe and responsible practice. A prize will be awarded to the most creative entry at the end of each day.

  • Design showcase

    Sustainable Living event

    Tasmanian artists showcase a variety of responses to sustainability through sculpture, video, drawing and weaving. Purchase a work at this unique exhibition in the entrance of PW1.

  • Hobart Old Time String Band

    They aint too serious 'bout 'emselves but bein' the biggest Hillbilly band this side o' the Mountain.

    They’ll be dressed down and tuned up for some toe-tappin' tunes from Hillbillies around the world.

  • Poetry SLAM

    Live and local poetry from your community.  Come aboard the bus and loose yourself.

    In conjunction with this years festival theme, the Future Could be Awesome, the poetrySLAM will be an opportunity for people to listen and share some powerful words. We invite all people to participate in the bus sessions, giving main focus to ideas of our future! Poetry slam will be running on Saturday from 11-2.
