In Defense of Food

The film follows Pollan on a fascinating journey to discover the truth about food and health.

Michael Pollan In Defense of Food

His search for answers takes him from the plains of Tanzania, where one of the world’s last remaining tribes of hunter-gatherers still eats the way our ancestors did, to Loma Linda, California, where a group of Seventh-day Adventist vegetarians live longer than almost anyone else on earth, and eventually to Paris, where the French diet, rooted in culture and tradition, proves surprisingly healthy. Along the way he reveals how a combination of flawed nutrition science and deceptive marketing practices have encouraged us to replace real food with scientifically engineered “edible food-like substances.”

Come along and watch this inspiring documenatry and learn ways that you can simplify your diet and re-discover the pleasures of eating while at the same time avoiding the chronic diseases that so often stem from the modern diet.

The film goes for 75 minutes and after the film there will be a Q&A with Jo and Michelle.  Join both of us for a fun and inspiring interactive discussion.  Share your journey with us.  Leave feeling empowered and re-energized in making small, sustainable and profound changes in the way you choose to eat.

This screening is for all.  Whether you're already well on your way with a real food lifestyle OR you are right at the very beginning; there will be something to learn, something to takeaway from "In Defense of Food"
