Climate Solutions luncheon at MONA with Paul Hawken

Humanity can secure a stable climate and thrive in the process. The solutions are already available and being implemented; we just need to accelerate them. At this luncheon we will explore the top global solutions, and how Tasmania is uniquely positioned to lead with many great opportunities.

Paul Hawken

Global Solutions - Paul Hawken

Paul is a pioneering architect of corporate reform with respect to ecological practices. His work includes founding successful, ecologically conscious businesses; consulting with heads of state and CEOs on economic development, industrial ecology, and environmental policy; and writing about the impacts of commerce on living systems.

At the luncheon, Paul will inspire us with his latest project, organisation, and book of the same title: Drawdown - The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed To Reverse Global Warming. It is based on meticulous research that maps, measures, models, and describes the most substantive solutions to global warming that already exist. It is the most important goal for humanity to undertake.

Paul Hawken's organisation did not make or devise the plan—they found the plan because it already exists. They gathered a qualified and diverse group of researchers from around the world to identify, research, and model the 100 most substantive, existing solutions to address climate change. What was uncovered is a path forward that can roll back global warming within thirty years. It shows that humanity has the means at hand. Nothing new needs to be invented. The solutions are in place and in action.
